NeuroRestorative Leadership Academy
At NeuroRestorative, our promise is to provide those we serve and our staff with quality, performance, and growth in everything that we do. This requires that we continuously expand our leadership and performance skills through investment in the development of our future team leaders.
In 2019, NeuroRestorative started the Leadership Academy, an opportunity for selected team members nationwide to join a 12-week program and learn alongside senior leaders. The Academy focuses on further developing essential leadership skills to influence and motivate passionate teams to communicate clearly, lead change, build relationships, develop people, create accountability, and grow opportunities to serve more people. Those selected into the program are chosen in recognition of the talents, skills, achievements, and participation they bring to their role each day, allowing them the opportunity to grow their career with NeuroRestorative.
Since the program launched, 96 team members have successfully graduated from the NeuroRestorative Leadership Academy. The 2024 cohort graduated in May. “Our Leadership Academy is one way we invest in our people and provide a culture where your career can grow. I am proud of our team members and their dedication to providing proactive, healthy, and safe environments of care.” -Bill Duffy, President, NeuroRestorative.
A Word From NeuroRestorative Leadership Academy Graduates
Joselyn Bazil, Area Director, Florida
Joselyn began working at NeuroRestorative as a Life Skill Trainer and has been promoted to various positions over the years, including Team Lead, Residential Supervisor, Program Manager, Program Director, and now, Area Director for Florida. In 2019, Joselyn participated in and graduated from the Academy program.
“The Leadership Academy provided an increased scope of what leadership represents in our organization. Everything I learned provided the foundation I needed to grow and a greater overall understanding, which I did not possess before attending the academy. To me, it was invaluable,” said Joselyn.
David Etlinger, Senior Manager of Development, Pediatric Services
Before joining NeuroRestorative in 2020 as Senior Manager of Development for our Pediatric Services, David worked for various nonprofit organizations. David participated and graduated from the Academy program in 2022.
“The Leadership Academy provided a real-world complement to my academic preparation (MS in Leadership) with true stories shared by peers.” said David. “In addition, the connections I made with colleagues in other service lines have continued to serve me and broaden my perspective of NeuroRestorative. While I may not work with all of them directly right now, these relationships will surely serve me as I continue navigating my career path in this organization.”
Kendra Peker, MSN, FNP-C, Area Director of Operations, Southeast Michigan
Kendra joined what is now NeuroRestorative in 2008 as a Caregiver. After expanding her education she worked in hospital settings, before rejoining the company as a Nurse Practitioner. Kendra was quickly promoted to Nursing Director and is now our Area Director for the state of Michigan. She graduated from the Leadership Academy program in 2023.
“Participating in Leadership Academy has been one of the most influential experiences that has impacted my performance. I have improved my skill set in empowering my team and stepping out of the ‘boss’ role and into more of a ‘coach’ role. In addition, I have built stronger relationships with external stakeholders while messaging the mission of NeuroRestorative.”
