Families are an integral part of the treatment team at NeuroRestorative, and we encourage them to be active participants in their loved one’s rehabilitation process.
We believe that open and consistent communication is critical to ensuring that individuals achieve their rehabilitative goals. To help facilitate that, families and legal guardians are offered regular phone or email updates on their loved one’s progress, and we welcome feedback and questions. In accordance with the wishes of the individual we support, families are also encouraged to visit their loved one regularly and are welcome to join in special activities such as holiday celebrations.
In addition, families and guardians are invited to participate in all formal conferences with the clinical team to review progress made, establish new goals, provide input, and plan for discharge.
We understand that challenges such as brain, spinal cord and medically complex injury and illness impact not only the individual, but the entire family as well. We offer counseling – with and without the individual – for families coping with the challenges.
And when a participant is ready to transition home, we offer training for the family at our programs and in their home to make the transition as smooth and successful as possible.
