Team Member Highlight: Demetrius Stoner, Program Manager, Kentucky

Demetrius joined the United States Air Force and was medically discharged after being temporarily paralyzed during a training accident. While studying for his psychology degree, Demetrius pursued a role with NeuroRestorative to gain experience. In 2015, he joined our NeuroRestorative, Lexington, KY, team as a Life Skills Trainer but later transferred to our Louisville program in 2017 and advanced his career to program manager. “I think the biggest thing I enjoy about my current position is a reflection of my previous ones, the individuals and their reactions to myself, and the connections I’ve curated with them working in their houses,” said Demetrius.

Demetrius’s military background has equipped him with the ability to understand what an individual may be going through and provide them with the right tools. This empathy and competence, along with a sense of discipline, are evident in his daily tasks, leadership, and teamwork. As he puts it, ‘This job takes a special person to always put the needs/desires of those we serve first. It takes pure character to do what’s right regardless of the circumstances surrounding you.’

At NeuroRestorative, we are lucky to have such dedicated team members like Demetrius, who goes above and beyond to put those we serve and their families first. Thank you, Demetrius, for your service!
